Learning to swim has so many health benefits as well as instilling self-confidence, being an essential life-saving skill and, of course, it’s lots of fun!
Here at Hampton Pool, we don’t just teach people to swim – we also teach the teachers. We offer membership, training and certification from the STA (Swimming Teachers’ Association) – an international award-winning charity working towards the objective or preserving human life by the teaching of swimming, lifesaving and survival techniques.
Our STA courses are taught by experienced instructors, providing top-notch training, in the enjoyable environment of our heated outdoor pool.
Choose from the STA Award course for beginners, or the more advanced STA certificate full course. Please note: you must be aged 16 or over and able to swim 25 metres.
To be able to gain your certificates and become a member of STA, you will also need to complete an online child protection test and either an NPLQ or Pool Rescue course.
Our swimming teacher training is based on the STA International Learn to Swim Programme, which is followed by millions of children worldwide who are learning to swim.
This comprehensive approach to swim teaching allows swimming teachers to maintain their standards of quality, safety and consistency and ensure these are never compromised.
The media has recently highlighted the fact that there is a shortage of swimming teachers nationwide, which has led Swim England to call for people to consider switching their career path to fill the gap and take on this “fulfilling profession”.
Being a swimming teacher is not just a rewarding way to help others learn a positive life skill, it also allows for flexible hours and keeps you active.
Here at Hampton Pool, we’re proud to be able to train swimming teachers and lifeguards to support the aquatics and leisure sector, who make such an essential contribution to keeping our communities safe, happy, fit and healthy.
