Welcome back for
Swim, Gym, Lessons
and Classes

Latest update:

5 October 2020

We now require customers to wear a face covering at all times whist in the building, including outside in the queue before their session starts and when ordering at the café.

Hampton Pool has reopened for swimming in both the main pool (for lane swimming and family swim sessions only at this stage) and the learner pool for families with small children. One hour gym sessions and fitness classes, swimming lessons and water polo are now also being added. The Sun Deck Café is also open for refreshments.

In order to manage numbers and to comply with the Government’s requirements for tracing, all sessions must be booked in advance via our app (instructions below this notice) or online. Both require you to be registered with us.

Unfortunately, we will be unable to admit anyone without a pre-booked slot.

All sessions are time-limited to allow us to thoroughly clean each area between each slot. Please note that booking consecutive gym or swim sessions will not allow you to stay in the water or gym for longer as we must clear and clean between each session.

Please read all the information on this page before visiting Hampton Pool as we have some new procedures that must be followed.

Important changes to pool use

There will be quite a few changes to the way you would normally use the site. We must ask that everyone follows the new guidelines and the instructions of our staff to ensure we remain a safe environment for everyone to enjoy:

  • Please do not turn up for your pre-booked session if you are experiencing any symptoms of Covid-19 or have been in contact with anyone displaying symptoms.
  • Session times include the period of time required to enter and exit the site, so please bear this in mind, e.g. a 45-minute session must include any time you need to change before and after your swim.
  • Come ‘Beach ready’ if you can, including showering before you set off if possible.
  • When lane swimming – please respect lane discipline and other swimmers, bearing in mind there may be mixed abilities.
  • Bring your own swimming equipment and floats. We will not be providing any.
  • Please do not use any equipment that has been placed out of use.
  • Swim responsibly, maintaining social distancing at all times.
  • Please enter and exit the poolside in single file, following the designated one-way route and maintain social distancing at all times.
  • Backstroke and Butterfly should be avoided.
  • Missed sessions are non-refundable.
  • The café will be open from Friday 17 July on a take-away basis only and will be serving a reduced menu.
  • Disabled facilities remain available for those in need.

A revised timetable

A revised timetable is in place and will be under constant review as we must remain in line with Government guidance. Details of available sessions can be found on the booking app and will be posted on our social media channels:

link to our facebook page link to our twitter page link to our instagram page
spacerspacer

Please note that the timetable on this site is not currently in operation

Initially we will be admitting fewer swimmers to each session than the Government guidance permits and will be increasing numbers gradually over the next few weeks.

We look forward to welcoming you back soon, from a safe and social distance, and hope to bring back family fun sessions, swimming lessons, gym use and classes over the next week or two. The safety of our staff and our customers remains our first priority so we must build up our services gradually whilst we all become familiar with our new guidelines.

Please read before arriving at Hampton Pool:

Terms & Conditions for swimming

  • All users of the site must follow the instructions of the Hampton Pool staff.
  • In order to maintain social distancing whilst in the water, lane swimmers must swim continuously.
  • If you must pause at the end of the lane, please take a very short break and face the pool wall.
  • If you need a longer break, please climb out of the pool and move to the grass area.
  • Backstroke and butterfly should be avoided in order to maintain effective lane management and social distancing.
  • Children over 8 years of age are permitted to take part in lane swimming sessions, provided they can (and do) swim proficiently and continuously.
  • Children of any age are permitted to swim with their parents or guardians during family swim sessions in the main pool, but must remain with the responsible adults at all times.
  • Family groups are permitted to book the Learner Pool, but may not move between the two pools during their session.

Our water is warm all year around

Welcome to the heated water of our open air pools. Hampton Pool, known as “South West London’s best kept secret” is situated next to Royal Bushy Park. Our main pool is 36 metres long and we also have a learner pool dedicated to children and their parents.

The Sunday Times described us as “one of Britain’s coolest, biggest, hippest pools”.

The water in our pools is heated throughout the year. We provide for the community 365 days of outdoor swimming, yes, you can even have a swim on Christmas Day! more...

Our pools are monitored by a team of professional lifeguards, providing a safe environment for swimmers of all ages and abilities.

The main pool is split in half at all times to allow for lane swimming on one side and family swimming and fun on the other.

Spend a day with us swimming and lazing in the sunshine, remember it’s cheaper and warmer than a family trip to the seaside. Customers even tell us that a day at Hampton Pool is like being on holiday!

We also offer limited free parking.

All children under 8 MUST be accompanied by an adult IN THE WATER (within easy reach) at all times. No more than two under 8s to each adult.

Weak and non-swimmers must stay in the shallow end with an adult and not go past the point marked on poolside. We highly recommend weak and non-swimmers wear approved buoyancy devices.
